Tour Briston Bay Region - Dillingham, Alaska

Researching Alaska tourism will have you seeing so many fabulous things to see and do that you will wonder where to start. One of the places that will catch the attention of every fisherman is the Bristol Bay in Alaska and the red salmon that are abundant in the area. You will be able to charter a boat and crew and go out into the bay and take on the challenge of catching the big one. Then go back to the lodge and brag about how great you are (or how lucky) to all of your friends and those that haven’t gone out yet.

The history of the area is most interesting with the long association with the Russians that have influenced the area for years. The Alaska Natives have their own traditions that are interesting to research too. Just look at the hand work they do and see the importance of all the natural items they use to create the beautiful crafts.

The Western Alaska Sled Dog Race is held in early March so if you are in the area at that time you will certainly want to go to that. The mushers are experienced, the dogs well trained and cared for and the excitement pumps through the air as the dogs and musher prepare for the challenge.
